For over 25 years, Mark Canty has helped insurance companies successfully resolve hundreds of difficult personal injury and insurance cases. Before starting his practice in 1993, Mark graduated from Saint Mary’s University collecting awards for academic excellence in English Literature which he continued under fellowship at Dalhousie University. Before entering law school, Mark spent 8 years as the Assistant Dean of Students at Mount Allison University.
In addition to his extensive experience with general insurance and personal injury cases, Mark also actively practices municipal, administrative, environmental, professional liability law, product liability, construction and commercial litigation, and health law. He also regularly acts as a mediator in insurance matters.
Mark is a member of Canadian Defence Lawyers, the Defense Research Institute, and the Canadian Bar Association and is a member and past president of the New Brunswick Law Society. Mark was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2010. Mark has been regularly listed by L’Expert and since 2016 has been was ranked by L’Expert as one of Canada’s leading litigation lawyers.
He regularly lectures on civil litigation law and insurance law for the New Brunswick Bar Admission Program, has been an invited lecturer and presented papers to the Canadian Bar Association and Canadian Defence Lawyers and is active in a wide range of other continuing legal education endeavours.
