Since 1979, Brenda Lutz has confined her practice of law to insurance litigation. She represents insurers and accident victims. Brenda’s analytical skills, combined with her knowledge of law, cogent marshalling of argument and writing abilities have led to successful resolution of many cases.
Brenda has been an invited speaker and has published papers for many Continuing Legal Education programs on topics such as Section B Auto benefits, Case Management for Head Injuries, Limitation Periods, Damages for Future Loss of Income and Defending Personal Injury Claims. Brenda has also been an invited speaker at Educational Programs for the Atlantic Trial Lawyer’s Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers and the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
For the last ten years, Brenda has been a member of the Insurance Management Committee of the New Brunswick Law Society. Since 1988, she has been the Civil Procedure Bar Admission Course Instructor.
Brenda was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1997. She received awards from the Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre and the Canadian Jewish Congress in 2001/2002 for her outstanding commitment to the elimination of anti-Semitism and racism.
In 2007, Brenda was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the New Brunswick Canadian Bar Association.
In 2013, Brenda was selected by her peers as Lawyer of the Year as published by Best Lawyers. She is listed in Best Lawyers in Canada in 2014, as well as in L’Expert.
In 2015, Brenda was the first recipient of the Franklin O. Leger Q.C. Award in recognition of her outstanding meritorious service, dedication and contribution in accordance with the highest ideals of the legal profession.
